Martin Luther King, Jr. Story Walk

Take a walk through history on the Downtown Story Trail on Hayden’s Lane in Smithfield, featuring the award-winning picture book Martin’s Big Words by Doreen Rappaport as we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The Story Walk is open to all ages.

Galentine's Self Defense Class
February 15th
Celebrate Galentine’s Day with purpose and power. 💗 This hands-on safety course for women and girls (ages 15+) provides practical physical and mental training to respond to common real-world threats — from simple grabs to more complex scenarios.
This experience is designed to build confidence, awareness, and a strong community of women who know they are worth protecting and worth the fight.

Smithfield Little Theater: Breakfast with Les and Bess

Step back into pre-1960s New York City, before social upheaval changed the nation, and meet Les and Bess — a married TV duo whose struggling talk show is on the brink of cancellation. With their careers fading, their marriage may be next. Les dreams of heading to Houston to become a sports announcer, while Bess is determined to stay in New York. Meanwhile, their outspoken son is testing limits, their daughter is ready to marry a sailor she just met, and a long-distance call from Princess Grace of Monaco hangs in the balance. What could possibly go wrong?
