A Letter From The Owners
Welcome, 2022! We wish blessings of health, joy, peace, and prosperity to your family for this coming year. At Verity Group, our team has grown in number, skill, and stamina as we close out a real estate year that made history in unprecedented ways.
Homeownership continues to be a value and there is a clear demand for homes in what has become a record-breaking low housing inventory. As a result, the competition was fierce for buyers who found it incredibly challenging to secure the right home. For sellers, while able to obtain top market value for their properties, it was challenging to find a new home and to navigate the many offers, terms, and conditions to establish a secure sale. Our real estate sales were nearly 50/50 buyers and sellers, so we are adept on both sides of the housing market.
As a real estate company, Verity Group was quick to establish workflows and processes to deliver consistent service and achieve results for our clients. We expanded our operations team and launched a new website to better serve both sellers and buyers.
In 2021, Hampton Roads saw over 2000 more homes listed than in 2020 (a 4.9% increase), and closed sales were up 11.8% from the year prior. Quite simply, the demand exceeds the supply and that doesn’t appear to be changing any time soon. We closed out December with even less inventory than we had this time last year. In anticipation of another extremely busy real estate year, Verity Group is proud to launch programs to help buyers and sellers succeed in the goals of buying and selling.
We’re giving back to our community by launching our Local Heroes Edition. This program allows a portion of our commission to be rebated back to the local heroes in Hampton Roads: teachers, bus drivers, first responders, nurses, and medical staff members, as well as local business owners and employees. We’ll be honoring a special group every quarter in 2022. Reach out to your Verity Group agent for more information if you or someone you know could benefit from this exciting program.
To help ease the minds of families navigating having to sell and buy who might fear being displaced between homes, we’ve launched our RV Guarantee, creating a safe and fun place to stay in the event of a short-term gap between closings. The Heishman family has thoroughly tested to ensure that it is comfortable and stocked, even for a family of six! If you or someone you know is scared to sell because they aren’t sure they can find something else, please pass this along!
Finally, through our PCS Edition, we have created custom relocation guides for every military base in Hampton Roads. We remain deeply committed to supporting our military service members as they PCS, relocating to and from the military installations in Hampton Roads. Our Military Ambassador Agents have personal experience as they have PCS’d families and navigated the sometimes stressful and intricate deals of a PCS move. We are working on the next phases of this program which will help transition our service members and their families as they acclimate to new communities.
Our team has worked hard last year to serve our clients, and to establish programs to help support additional growth honoring our clients by supporting not only the financial and transactional aspects of the real estate process, but also the emotional, physical, and mental toll that comes from moving. We are deeply relational, and our clients and our team members genuinely feel like an extension of our families. We continue to strive to find the balance of always being available to support every client, while fully experiencing joy with our own families making memories, and spending time together. We work together collaboratively to support the agents and operations members of our team and all our clients.
